The History:

In 1922 at the age of 11 Everett Gochenour started working at the local auction barn.  Over time he learned how to “cry” and eventually he started his own auctioneering business, Gochenour Auctioneering. Eventually two of his sons, Forrest and Rex, joined him and they became Gochenour and Sons Auctioneering. At one point the three were joined by fellow auctioneer Ed Maske and formed Gochenour, Gochenour, and Maske for a short time.

Forrest and Rex continued to run the business with their wives Linda and Deb after Everett and Ed retired, becoming what was known as Gochenour and Gochenour Auctioneering (which eventually became known simply as Gochenour Auctioneering.) Forrest and Rex along with with their sons Rich and Craig continued working together until the Fall of 2010 when Forrest and Linda retired. Today, Rex, his wife Deb, their son Craig, and his wife Christine continue the tradition.

It can be said that there has been a Gochenour in the auction business for over 90 years!
